The System staff works to help member libraries meet the technological needs of their staff and patrons. We currently offer the following services:

• Consultation

Consultation covers a wide range of possibilities, and allows libraries to get advice and recommendations on any topic.  Librarians who are interested in a technology, but are not certain how it works or how best to implement it in their library can benefit from the research and experience of System staff.

• Database Authentication Proxy

Database authentication allows your patrons to access databases from anywhere in the world.  It is a seamless process which only requires a last name and barcode to give patrons of your library access to library resources online.

• Filtering

If filtering is a necessity, there are some filtering services that can make Internet filtering less complicated for you and your patrons.

• Plinkit Web Site Creation

Plinkit is a content management system designed for libraries to help librarians maintain modern Web Sites that are easily updateable.

• Training

System staff can work with your staff on a variety of technology topics.

• Web Site Hosting

The System offers Web Site hosting with FTP access, with both Microsoft IIS and LAMP platforms for advanced capabilities.

• Automation

The GateNet consortium shares an automation system, which you can find out about here.
