L2 Tips – Checking My Learning Journal

Can’t remember if you already added your ILA conference attendance (a non-LCLS CE event) to your LibraryLearning (L2) account? Easy peasy. Make sure you are signed (logged) into your L2 account. Click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (signed in as: (your first name)).

Next, click on My Events, along the column on the left-hand side of the screen. L2 will display all the LCLS-related CE events and any events you added through Add to My Learning Journal. In a light blue box, L2 displays a Don’t Forget! listing of the coming events for which you have registered. Below that is the list of the CE events you have attended — both the LCLS sponsored events AND any events you added to your Learning Journal.

Scroll down the list to the date(s) of the the ILA conference to see if you already added the CE information. Information not there? Add it by clicking on the Add to My Learning Journal link in the brownish box at the top right of the screen.

If you want to add more details to your entry, click on the Edit link under the ILA conference entry. Make your changes, then click the Submit button.

Remember, you can add any CE events you attend that aren’t already tracked in L2 — things like ILA or ISLMA conference, your library’s staff/in-service days, WebJunction Illinois courses and other online classes.

L2 Tips – Adding CE Events to My Learning Journal

Many times you attend a CE activity that is not sponsored by the System. L2 lets you track those CE activities within your personal L2 account, under My Learning Journal. To add the non-LCLS CE activities to LibraryLearning, sign in to your L2 account.

Once in L2, click on your name at the top right hand of the screen where it says: signed in as: (your first name)

Now click on Add to My Learning Journal, along the left side of the screen. L2 will display a short form for you to enter Title, Date, Contact Hours, Description, and Notes. You must enter a Title and a Date. The other information is optional.

You should enter the number of Contact Hours to help track your total CE hours. Round your Contact Hours up to the nearest half hour.

While Description is optional, library directors and supervisors may require there staff to add this detail. This is a good way of tracking the content of various non-LCLS CE activities.

And, of course, don’t forget to click the Submit button!
