OCLC Bibliographic Records Merge

The recent addition of encoding level 3 records to the WorldCat database has caused a multitude of duplicate bibliographic records. OCLC encourages members to report duplicate records and other errors electronically. Please also report record errors such as:

  • Filing indicator changes
  • Type code changes
  • Name and subject corrections

Please complete the form at https://www3.oclc.org/app/bibdup/   to report duplicate bibliographic errors.

Other bibliographic record errors which negatively affect access should be reported at https://www3.oclc.org/app/bibchg/

If you have any questions please contact Edie Elliot (ediee@lcls.org), Nick Bennyhoff (nicholasbennyhoff@lcls.org), or Leslie Bednar (lesliebednar@lcls.org).
