LCLS Website Features
In an effort to enhance the
delivery and archival of the large amounts of information we pass on to
our members, LCLS has add several new features to our
website.
What's new?
Our new
homepage has been reorganized to serve more
content to our target audience.
Our news
archive has been added to help us store
and help you find news items you may have missed.
Our news e-mail
alert system allows us to send a brief e-mail, including a link to the
full article, to our various e-mail lists.
RSS Web Feed
Along with our upgraded news system, LCLS now offers an RSS web feed that can be added to your favorite RSS or Web Feed reader.
What is RSS? RSS, or web feeds, are is a way to share or syndicate web content in a uniform way. RSS feeds can be transformed into easily
readable content by a variety of programs. With an RSS reader, you can have website content delivered to your desktop without having to visit the website!

Logging on
to our site
Your existing CLeO now
logs you on to our whole website. As
our site continues to grow, this log on will give you access to new
features and preferences. Logging on is optional, but if you want to use services like CLeO then you
will need to create an account and logon. If you choose the "save password" option when logging on, you will be automatically logged in to our website each time you visit (see "Cookies" below).
Creating an account requires an e-mail address. If you are an employee of an LCLS member library, you are eligible for an @lcls.org e-mail. Contact your director and have them request an e-mail address for you. To request an e-mail they can send a message to helpme or call our office at (618) 656-3216.

usage of our website. We also use cookies when logging into services like
CLeO. This allows a user to store their Logon information
so they do not have to log in each time. Saving your password in a cookie
is optional and not required.
As a best practice we encourage users to routinely delete their
cookies.
Definitions:
"Personally identifiable information" is
information used to identify or contact a specific individual, such as a
name, e-mail address, or phone number. "Aggregate information" is
information that does not identify a specific individual but describes a
web page on our site you
visited.
