Collection Development and Access Librarian - Illinois Valley Community College (Oglesby)

The Collection Development Librarian provides leadership in the management of library resources and in providing service to the students, faculty and staff; facilitates access to print and electronic resources through implementation of conventional and emerging means; and guides all collection development and technical service functions.  Master’s Degree in an ALA accredited Library Science program; experience with library automation systems; teaching or training experience; and customer service skills required.  Supervisory experience and the ability to learn independently and excel in a rapidly changing, team environment preferred.

Visiting Archival Operations and Reference Specialist (AORS) - UIUC

This limited-term academic professional position assists with planning and implementing policies and procedures for services related to the Illinois History and Lincoln Collections and specifically coordinates appraisal, processing, digitization, access and outreach for the IHLC manuscripts, archival, and monographic collections. The incumbent assumes a leading role in the provision of services for these materials and will use specialized knowledge of records, standards, and techniques to assist faculty, administrators, students, and members of the public in locating, interpreting, and making research use of primary and secondary sources.  He or she will develop and implement plans to accession, arrange, process, describe and provide access to archival materials in analog and digital forms, in consultation with the Curator and with functional experts in other Library units, such as University Archives, Preservation and Conservation, and Digital Content Creation. The position assists in the supervision of graduate and undergraduate student workers when employed in the unit.

Circulation Manager - Rochester Public Library District

Library Director - Sherrard Public Library District

The Library Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Library operations, including the supervision of staff, contractors, and subcontractors. Specific employment responsibilities would include budget planning and operation, management and reporting, technology planning and implementation, collection development, overseeing the maintenance and repair of Library building and equipment, grant writing, preparation of legal notices and required government reports.

Library Assistant II – Youth Services/Technology, Mt. Zion District Library

Under the supervision of the Library Director and in coordination with the Youth Coordinator, the Library Assistant creates an environment that attracts and invites teens to use the collection. Cultivates relationships with local school librarians/media specialists; presents programs of interest to youth of all ages, especially teens and pre-teens; performs reference and reader’s advisory services for customers of all ages; assists customers in their use of library catalog, computers and portable devices; assists in collection management focusing on materials of interest to teens. E-Learning Specialist - University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks an innovative, collaborative, knowledgeable, and service-oriented professional for the newly created position of E-Learning Specialist. The University Library has a strong tradition of instruction, and this newly created position will build upon ongoing instruction practices in the University Library. Reporting to the Coordinator for Information Literacy Services & Instruction in the Office of User Services, the successful candidate will develop and support e-learning programs in the University Library and work closely with subject specialist and instructional librarians who support online programs and/or create instructional materials to support blended learning. The E-Learning Specialist will be responsible for providing e-learning support, consulting, training, and communications to library faculty, staff, and units in order to enhance the instructional efficiency and learning outcomes of the Library.

Head, Ricker Library of Architecture and Art - University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Reporting to the University Librarian, the Head of Ricker Library of Architecture and Art will provide leadership for and supervision of library services to students, faculty, and other scholars using the Ricker. The Head of Ricker is a member of the University Library’s Arts and Humanities Division.

Circulation Assistant (part-time) - O'Fallon Public Library

The O’Fallon Public Library seeks a friendly, positive, enthusiastic, tech-savvy, customer-oriented individual to fill a part-time position at our busy Circulation Desk. Last fiscal year, more than 150,000 people visited the library and more than 380,000 items were checked out.

 

Primary duties include assisting library customers in person or by phone, performing all duties associated with an automated circulation system, processing library card applications and orienting patrons to library services, assisting customers with book selections and using the SHARE catalog.  May also be assigned to assist with special events or work on projects as assigned by the Circulation Manager or Director.
