The Technical Services Assistant is responsible for the processing of materials received by the Library, verifying accuracy of invoices and condition of items, maintaining receipt-records for the serial subscriptions, working with vendors to claim unreceived issues, and copy cataloging.

The Technical Services Assistant works on a schedule established by the Technical Services and Electronic Resources Librarian. Minimal supervision is provided; the Technical Services Assistant must be attentive to detail, exercise informed judgment, and recognize when to refer problems to appropriate staff members. The Technical Services Assistant is cross-trained to assist with the operation of the Access Services unit.

This Teen Librarian position will be based out of the Meadowridge Library and serve middle school and high school youth on the west side of Madison. This position will focus on collaborations with many community partners, such as west Madison schools, Neighborhood Centers, churches and community organizations, including The Road Home and MSCR, as well as working with neighborhood residents to identify community needs and develop engaging learning opportunities and programs to meet those needs.

In this position, you will focus on establishing relationships with individuals and organizations throughout the City, especially those representing under-resourced neighborhoods. The Community Engagement Coordinator will use data and community conversations to determine needs and will translate those needs into action under the umbrella of the library's strategic priorities.
