eRead Illinois

The Secretary of State and Illinois State Library awarded a $985,219 grant to IHLS and the Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS) for the E-books for Illinois Project, named eRead Illinois. The two-year grant project will increase access to e-books for Illinois residents and grow e-book expertise among library staff, library system staff, and Illinois residents. It includes an e-book collection and the 3M Cloud Library software platform for IHLS SHARE members. IHLS non-SHARE and RAILS member libraries will use the Baker & Taylor Axis 360 software platform. The grant also includes research into a self-hosted model, training, a list of free e-book resources, a website, and assistance to libraries in promoting the project.
