SHARE Update

The big SHARE news for this week is, of course, the announcement we were able to make at Tuesday evening's IHLS Board meeting.  We have received a $996,242.00 grant from Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White and the Illinois State Library to expand resource sharing by adding members to SHARE.  Briefly, the grant will cover the cost of implementation fees, purchase some equipment, and provide barcoding assistance for newly joining members.

More information about the grant--and a fabulous video--are available for your review on the IHLS website.

It’s not just the books under fire now that worry me.
It is the books that will never be written.
The books that will never be read.
And all due to the fear of censorship.
As always, young readers will be the real losers.
