3. Welcome to New Board Members

The following board members introduced themselves and agreed to the Commitment to Serve:

  • Gary Denue (Edwardsville Public Library)
  • Sarah Isaacs (Early Childhood and Parenting Collaborative (ECAP) (Illinois Early Intervention Clearinghouse)
  • Sandy West (Rend Lake College)

4.Election of Officers

The board elected officers for FY2015 by acclamation:

  • President: James Matthews (Mahomet Pubic Library District)
  • Vice President: Karen Bounds (Centralia High School District #200)
  • Secretary: Jacob Roskovensky (Charleston Community Unit School District #1)
  • Treasurer: Nancy Huntley (Lincoln Library (Springfield))

5. Appointment of Susan Justice to Vacant Board Seat

The board accepted the appointment of Susan Justice to the vacant two-year public library trustee position. Susan accepted the Commitment to Serve, and represents Eldorado Memorial Public Library District.

11.d. Personnel 

In closed session, the board rejected an offer to settle an employment issue of $27K and directed counsel to continue negotiations.

12. ISL Report

Anne Craig reminded the board of the draft System Standards and the period for feedback.

16.d. Software Proposal Board accepted Finance Committee recommendation to purchase the Abila MIP Fund Accounting 100 software package.
16.f. Long Range Plan Board accepted Long Range Plan Committee recommendation to contract with Nancy Bolt & Associates to assist with long range planning process.
18.b. Appoint Board FOIA Officer Gary Denue was appointed Freedom of Information Act Officer.
18.c.ii. Plan of Service In response to Illinois State Library review of our FY2015 Area & Per Capita Grant application, the board approved additional language to be included in the Plan of Service.
