POSITION TITLE: LIBRARY PROGRAM SPECIALIST – IFT UNION POSITION

DEPARTMENT: ILLINOIS STATE LIBRARY

DIVISION: Library Development

SECTION: Grants & Programs

LOCATION: Springfield/Sangamon County

SALARY RANGE: $5,383 – $7,947 monthly

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES INCLUDING SPECIAL OR DISTINGUISHING FEATURES:

Subject to administrative approval of the Library Program Administrator of the Library
Development Group, Grants/Programs, serves as a consultant in the specialized area of library
services, administers the collection, analysis and reporting of library data and statistics for all
types of Illinois libraries; oversees the publication of data analysis for statewide and national
distribution, provides library programming and training for library staff who provide services
to children and youth along with statewide statistical and data collection/analysis from the
various types of Illinois libraries; implements policies and administers grants and programs
for school libraries; administers statewide programs and initiatives that target library service
and training for library staff who deal with statistical collection and analysis and who provide
services to children and youth; represents the State Library at appropriate meetings that deal
with these specialized areas of library services; Requires travel – may include nights &
weekends. Requires possession of valid Illinois driver’s license. Requires lifting and
carrying of 0 – 50 lbs.
