Coordinator of Instructional Services

Richland Community College in Decatur Illinois is a comprehensive community college with a student-centered focus and a tradition of academic excellence.  The College is currently seeking a Coordinator of Instructional Services.

The Coordinator serves as the primary public service resource to students, faculty, and community users relating to College library collections and services.  The Coordinator also assists in the full range of library and learning resource services, including collection development, circulation, management of bibliographic data bases, conducting workshops, interlibrary loan, acquisitions and technological support,

This position requires a Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution, plus two years of related library work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to library science.  The position requires knowledge of current library concepts and practices, effective communication skills, and the ability to work with faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.  Scheduling flexibility to work evening and weekend library hours is required.

Director of Library Services

Richland Community College in Decatur Illinois is a comprehensive community college with a student-centered focus and a tradition of academic excellence.  The College is currently seeking a Director of Library Services.

The Director is responsible for the supervision and long term direction of the College’s library and related library services.  The Director is responsible for supervising daily operations, and developing physical and web-based resources that create enhanced learning opportunities for students.

This position requires a Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution, plus five years of related library work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to library science.  Supervisory experience is required.  The position requires knowledge of current library concepts and practices, effective communication skills, and the ability to work with faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.  Community College experience is preferred.
