Library Staff and Board Members Asked to Update L2 Profiles:

Eight Illinois library systems, working cooperatively with the Illinois State Library, have collaboratively planned, funded, and implemented a project to improve Library Learning (L2) operations and services. L2 is used by the statewide library community as an event calendar and registration system, a directory of Illinois libraries, and a directory of library staff and public library board members.

Now is the time for library staff and board members to check their Library Learning (L2) profile and update their information. Visit L2 at http://www.librarylearning.info to update profile information, change a password, list library affiliation(s), or add a photo.  If you already have an L2 account, please do not create a new one to update information.  If you have forgotten your password you can request that it be sent to you.

A library director (or designee) has the ability to edit his/her library’s profile information, as well as to add/remove staff affiliations, and to register staff for L2 events. Directors may look up their library building using Find Libraries, and then check their library’s record for accuracy. Directors may also view and update the staff and board members affiliated with their library.

Scholastic Warehouse Sale:

Scholastic is hosting a 3-day warehouse sale in Edwardsville, from December 7th through the 9th.  More information can be found here.

Public Library Days and Dates for 2011-2012:

The ever-popular days and dates to remember for public libraries has been updated by Phil Lenzini and is now available on WebJunction.  Follow the short guidelines to download your own version of the document here.

Library System funding to be released:

Anne Craig (Director, Illinois State Library) just announced a transfer of funds to Illinois Library Systems.   Lewis & Clark Library System will receive $199,714.36, completing the FY2010 appropriation of $904,241.  This latest influx of truly appreciated funds will allow LCLS to operate through June 2011.

  • Committee meetings run take place during the mornings
  • Building tours and lunch occur at midday
  • The entire panel meets during the afternoons

Be sure to check the Cooperation Today web site for updated information including agendas, process documents and to comment on any aspect of the process.  We encourage member participation at meetings and welcome your comments on Cooperation Today.
