This is the sixth in a series of posts featuring an LCLS courier route and our members along the way.
Today Edie Elliott, GateNet Database Coordinator, rode along on the Staunton route with Orlanda Dickey, Courier Driver. Take a photo journey as delivery leaves the system and material is delivered and picked up. Members could follow along on the Lewis & Clark Library System FACEBOOK page as delivery left the system and materials were delivered and picked up at member libraries. You do not need to have an account or be logged in to see the post. Who knows…we may be highlighting YOUR library next!

Orlanda loads tubs to go in the van
The van is all loaded, ready to go!
8:35 AM. First stop, Tri-Township Public Library District.
Inside the library, at the circulation desk.
8:45 AM. Second stop, Triad High School, with Annette Mills and JoAnn Rheinecker at the circulation desk. The school has about 1300 students.
9:25 AM. Third stop, Staunton Public Library. Gladys Suhrenbrock has just arrived to get the library ready to open for the day.
This is the children's area.
9:35 AM. Fourth stop, Staunton CUD #6. Librarian Debby Nicholas and student worker Ariel. Check out the cool Halloween decorations hanging over the circulation desk!
9:45 AM. Fifth stop, Bunker Hill Public Library District. Lots of beautiful flowers are a welcoming sight.
The library isn't open yet, so Orlanda drops off the tubs and picks up the ones that are waiting.
10:00 AM. Sixth stop. Orlanda takes bags to Bunker Hill High School. At this stop, he also delivers bags for Wolf Ridge Education Center.
10:15 AM Seventh stop, Brighton Memorial Public Library. This is the colorful mural on the side of the building.
Librarian Sally Bland receives the day's delivery from Orlanda. Along with the outgoing tubs, the librarians gave us each a bag of treats to take along--what a pleasant surprise. Thanks!
10:35 AM. Orlanda pushes the tubs through the Alton Square Mall to our eighth stop, the Hayner Public Library District. Hayner is one of the few libraries in the country to be located inside a mall.
At the circulation desk, Mary Kay helps a patron while Janet checks in items that have been returned. Today is Janet's birthday--Happy Birthday!
A view of the stacks. Hayner gets 16-20 tubs a day in delivery--it takes 2 or 3 trips to get everything from the van to the library!
11:15 AM. Last stop, the Bethalto Public Library
Deb and Mag man the circulation desk while Orlanda delivers the tubs.
Unloading the van at the end of the route. A total of 68 tubs and bags were delivered or picked up.
33 Tubs, 3 Bags, and 1 Book Buddy were delivered.
27 Tubs, 2 Bags, and 3 Book Buddies were picked up.
