Future Planning Update

Six representatives from the Lewis & Clark Library System (LCLS) met with colleagues from the Lincoln Trail Libraries System, Rolling Prairie Library System and Shawnee Library System to examine the value of bringing all four southern Illinois library systems into a single unit of cooperation. The meeting was held June 22, 2010, at the Kaskaskia Community College Vandalia Center.

Agenda items for the meeting included:

–current state of cooperation planning statewide

–recent southern systems joint activity

It was a lively initial meeting with many perspectives and ideas exchanged. Participants requested detailed financial information from all four library systems for analysis and agreed to a second meeting Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Time and place have not yet been finalized.
