Library System Standards
As you know, the Illinois State Library has convened a committee to review and revise the Standards for the Services of Illinois Multitype Library Systems. Several documents on this topic can be found at http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/library/whats_new/systemstandardrules.html.
Throughout the course of approximately the next 6 months, this process will entail releasing information to the library community and gathering comments by specific deadlines. Your input is crucial to shaping the future of multitype library systems in Illinois. It is my personal hope that you can find the time to read through the work of the committee, give serious thought to the implications for the services your library provides, and then add your earnest comments to WebJunction for the committee to consider. You may contribute your comments at http://il.webjunction.org/il-systems/resources/discussion.
As a member of the Library System Standards Committee, I want to underscore how valuable your suggestions are to the committee. It is only with your active participation that we can ensure a future that works for Illinois residents and the library community.
