About LCLS Members

Each year sees changes at the System and the member libraries. New staff members join a library, new libraries become members, and trustees and others become involved with the library. To help familiarize everyone with the Lewis & Clark Library System, System staff created the Member’s Orientation video. The five minute video introduces the System and its services to those unfamiliar with our services. Please feel free to contact the System for an in-depth orientation and tour.

Non-resident card fee information, FY 2008-2009

In Illinois, people living outside the service area of a public library are considered non-residents. Non-residents are eligible to purchase a library card from the public library under certain conditions. The sale of a library card to a non-resident is covered by the Illinois Statutes, 75 ILDS 5/4-7(12) and 75 ILDS 16/30-55.60 specifically. In early 2002, the Statute was changed to include reciprocal borrowing and to indicate where the non-resident was to purchase the card. To see the complete statute, visit http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs.asp going to Chapter 75, Libraries.

For 2008-09, several libraries did not reply to the annual non-resident fee survey. This has been noted as no reply next to the library
