Judith Rake

Judy has over 25 years experience working with libraries on literacy issues including 11 years as the Director of Literacy for the Illinois State Library. During these years she worked with many libraries to help them understand the key role they play in literacy efforts in their communities.
At the System, Judy works in the area of advocacy and marketing libraries to patrons, local, state, and government officials. She also works with those libraries that received Gates computers to train staff on maximizing the use of the software options on the computers. Training on library specific applications of software products such as Adobe Acrobat and Publisher is yet another facet of her continuous learning contributions.
Judy is the System representative to SAL and SILRC, special interest groups for academic librarians. Judy has served on a variety of committees; currently she serves on the Illinois Community College Board and the School Board of the Illinois Department of Corrections.
